About the Gallery

Orkun Ozan Art Gallery was founded in Antalya in 1996 by graphic artist and painter Himmet ÖCAL. As Antalya’s first private art gallery, it created an independent space bringing audiences together with works by artists from Türkiye and abroad.

The gallery develops exhibitions, collection projects and cultural events around art’s direct relationship with people. Its archive brings together painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, original prints and other disciplines.

Today this heritage is carried forward through a digital archive that connects artists, artworks, exhibitions and media records into a living artistic memory.

Himmet ÖCAL

Graphic artist · Painter · Educator

Himmet ÖCAL graduated from the A.E.F. Painting Department in 1974. Between 1977 and 1979 he taught Painting and Art History at Kayseri Education Institute and Antalya Aksu Education Institute. During and after his studies, he received practical training in original printmaking and screen printing in Prof. Dr. Süleyman Saim Tekcan’s studio.

In 1979 he began his professional practice in graphic design and screen printing in Antalya. He later taught Graphic Design and Visual Communication for a total of 12 years at Süleyman Demirel University and Akdeniz University faculties of fine arts.

Remaining active as an artist, he founded Antalya’s first private art gallery and created opportunities for many artists to exhibit their work. He continues his own artistic production alongside his role as founder.
