Biography

Born in Istanbul in 1958, he studied at the Neşet Günal Studio in the Painting Department of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (now Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts) between 1976 and 1981. His paintings, which also include figures from Renaissance art, reflect a questioning of the transition period from traditional to Western culture in Turkey. The artist develops a critical method in his paintings and prioritizes social messages. He lives and works in Istanbul.
