Biography
Şebnem Altuntaş was born in Istanbul in 1968. In 1986, she entered the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University; she studied in the studios of Neşe Erdok and Adnan ÇOKER and graduated first in her class in 1990. Her training in lithography, engraving, and serigraphy techniques was crucial in shaping her artistic language. In her postgraduate studies at the Mimar Sinan University Institute of Social Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Devrim Erbil, she focused on the reflections of Impressionism in Turkish painting and local stylistic forms. Altuntaş, who has participated in numerous group exhibitions, continues her work in painting education alongside her artistic production.
