Biography
Ahmet Çapar is an Antalya-based artist who comes from a background as a Turkish language and literature teacher and produces work in the fields of painting and ceramics. Turning to painting to convey feelings and thoughts he cannot express in words, Çapar describes his work as a process of inner relief and self-discovery. In his abstract paintings, he draws inspiration from nature, stones, trees, and the forms of the universe; he establishes the relationship between color and surface with an improvisational approach. While the light, colors, and natural diversity of Antalya are reflected in his works, the artist also produces work in clay and ceramics in addition to painting.
