Biography
Ahmet Yeşil was born in Mersin in 1954. Between 1973 and 1985, he received painting training from Nuri Abaç, İlhan Çevik, and Ernür Tüzün; he graduated from Anadolu University's Department of Sociology in 2015. In his works, he addresses the concepts of nature, transformation, memory, and loss through layered color and texture arrangements. Linear structures resembling string and rope have become one of the distinctive elements of his painting language. Having participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and received national and international awards, Yeşil's works are included in collections in Turkey, as well as in Germany, the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The artist lives and works in Mersin.
