Biography
Ali Candaş was born in 1940 in Beşikdüzü, Trabzon. In 1952, he entered the Pulur Village Institute in Erzurum through an examination, and in 1956, he became a student in the painting seminar at the Çapa Teacher Training School in Istanbul. He graduated from this school in 1959 and became a primary school teacher in Bahşayiş village, Çatalca, Istanbul. In the same year, he won second place in the Painting and Crafts Department at the Gazi Education Institute in Ankara. In 1962, he was appointed as a painting and crafts teacher at the Urfa Girls' Teacher Training School. In 1965, he transferred to the Trabzon Mixed Secondary School. Because he loved his job so much, he didn't stay there long, and after six months, he transferred to the Ordu Perşembe Teacher Training School as a painting and crafts teacher. In 1971, he opened his first solo exhibition in this city. In 1973, he was appointed as a painting teacher at the Çapa Teacher Training School in Istanbul, where his artistic feelings were ignited. After working at this school for five years, he transferred to the Istanbul Atatürk Education Institute. It was 1978. At the same institution; After working for many years as a Professor at the Department of Fine Arts Education (now Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education), she retired voluntarily in June 2006.
