Biography
Burhan Uygur was born in Giresun in 1940. He completed his primary and secondary education in Tirebolu and his high school education in Trabzon. In 1968, he studied at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, first with Nurullah Berk, and later received his bachelor's degree from the Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Studio. In 1970, with a scholarship from the Austrian government, he continued his studies with the painter Corneille at the Salzburg Summer Academy. In 1982, he worked on original prints at Süleyman Saim Tekcan's studio in Söğütlüçeşme and in 1991 at the Çamlıca Art House. He passed away in Istanbul in 1992.
