Biography
Levent Tanyeri, born in Tire, İzmir in 1973, is a painter, visual arts teacher, and columnist. He studied at the Hasan RASTGELDİ Workshop in the Painting Department of the Buca Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylül University and, after graduation, began working within the Ministry of National Education. He taught at various levels in Hakkari, Şanlıurfa, Muş, and Gaziantep; and from the early 2000s onwards, he carried out training, project, and design work in the field of textile design. In 2019, he founded the Contemporary Art Community painting workshop in Gaziantep, conducting artistic activities with a group of painting teachers. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Artists Union Association, founded in 2022, and publishes articles on art in his column in CEMİYET magazine. Producing figurative works based on cultural elements and local stories, the artist establishes a unique visual language with strong forms, rich colors, and solid compositions. In his recent works, he explores the balance between existence and non-existence, color and form, and light and darkness; creating depth through light perspective. Tanyeri, whose work has been featured in national and international exhibitions, continues its production and training activities in Gaziantep.
