Biography
Born in Oltu district of Erzurum in 1977. Completed her undergraduate studies at Atatürk University, Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts, specializing in Carpet, Kilim and Old Fabric Designs, between 1996-2000. Completed her master's degree in Decorative Arts and Painting Education at Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University in 2000 with a thesis on "Carpet and Kilim Examples of the Turkic World". Completed her doctorate in Fine Arts Education at Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University in 2008 with a thesis on "Basic Principles of Carpet Weaving Education". Served as the Director of the Adult Education Center affiliated with Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University from 2004-2010, while also working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Served as the Vice President of the Young Kazakhstan Scientists Ensemble at the Southern Kazakhstan Education Directorate from 2008-2010. From 2010 to 2015, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts at Akdeniz University. From 2012 to 2018, she was the Director of the Akdeniz University Culture and Arts Research and Application Center. Since 2015, she has received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts at Akdeniz University. The artist has published books, presented papers at national and international symposiums, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, participated in various projects both domestically and internationally, and held group and solo exhibitions.
