Biography
Born in Eskişehir, the artist completed her ceramics education at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramic Arts in 1997. After working in the private sector for a while, she began her academic career as a lecturer at Dumlupınar University Kütahya Vocational School in 1999. She received her master's degree in 2004 from Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Ceramic Arts with her thesis "Sgraffito Decorations in Ceramic Art," and her proficiency degree in art in 2011 from the same university's Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramic Arts with her thesis "Optical Illusion and its Use and Applications in Ceramic Art." Between 2004 and 2010, she worked as a lecturer at Anadolu University Bozüyük Vocational School, and currently continues in the same position at Akdeniz University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics and Glass. The artist expresses her own vision by adding modern techniques and approaches to the journey of ceramic material through traditional styles. Within this approach, the artist uses the possibilities of ceramic material as a tool to create illusions in the viewer and influence their perceptions. The artist continues her artistic activities through participation in exhibitions, symposiums, and conferences both domestically and internationally, and her works are included in many collections.
