Biography
Selahattin Kara was born in 1958 in Çayeli district of Rize. He graduated from the Painting Department of Atatürk Education Institute in 1978 and worked as a painting teacher between 1979 and 1984. Since 1984, he has continued his work in his studio in Istanbul. He is known as the "painter of Istanbul," particularly for his impressionistic interpretation of Istanbul landscapes.
