Biography
Turan Enginoğlu was born in Tire in 1953. Between 1971 and 1973, he worked as a primary school teacher; in 1977, he graduated from the Painting and Art Education Department of Ankara Gazi Education Institute. He served as the director of the Trabzon Fine Arts Gallery for three years and received his proficiency degree in art in 1987. He worked as a faculty member in the Fine Arts Education Department of the Buca Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylül University and retired in 2019. Joining the United Painters and Sculptors Association in 1980, the artist continues his work in his studio in İzmir. Developing a colorist, formalist, and expressionist style in his oil and watercolor paintings, Enginoğlu explores color relationships through streets, red roofs, and figures. He received awards in the 1985 and 1986 Ephesus Museum competitions and the 1999 İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum competition.
