Biography
Zeycan Alkış graduated from the Textile Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1986 and from the Photography Department of the same university in 2021. Her graduation project used engraving techniques on "silver print photography." During her education, she received painting training in the studios of Devrim Erbil and Zekai Ormancı. In 2001, she joined the Süleyman Saim Tekcan Printmaking Workshop at Çamlıca Art House, creating original prints; in the same year, she worked at the Sakine Çil Ceramics Workshop. In 2007, she participated in workshops at the Istanbul Graphic Arts Museum and worked on printmaking with Prof. Süleyman Saim Tekcan. In 2008, she held a printmaking exhibition at İMOGA and participated in the 32nd FISAE Congress in Beijing. She continued her printmaking work at İMOGA in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Alkış continues to produce paintings, engravings, illustrations, and photographs. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, including the 1st International Printmaking Biennial and the Exlibris Exhibition in Milan. He lives and works in Istanbul.
